Hallberg hosts SVT's satirical programme "Svenska nyheter" (Swedish News), where he often jokes about controversial topics.
On Thursday's "Skavlan and Sweden," he says there was also a contract out on his life. The family moved immediately after learning about it.
We couldn't be at home because someone wanted to murder me, he says on the SVT programme.
Hallberg says it was "deeply unpleasant," but believes it was hardest on his family.
"Because my family didn't choose this. I got into this on principle," he says.
