The criticized change to the Melodifestivalen broadcast was not well received, admits project manager Anders Wistbacka. "It did not go down well with a large part of the audience," he says.

When SVT moved the last few minutes of the broadcast to SVT Play in connection with the first semi-final, it was met with a storm of complaints from viewers. For Saturday's semi-final in Gothenburg, the final qualifying round has therefore once again been moved back to the linear broadcast.

The viewers didn't think it was a good solution, and we are listening to them, says Anders Wistbacka.

But to fit everything within the regular broadcast time, it will be a more compressed version.

We are scaling back large parts of the final qualifying announcement and compressing the rest of the content. We will see tomorrow night at the rehearsal whether it works or not; otherwise we may have to change it again, says Wistbacka.
