The committee believes that the feature gave an incorrect impression that the security situation means that Jewish culture cannot operate in public spaces in Malmö.
The report said that a planned Jewish film festival had to be cancelled for security reasons. The reporter says in the report that no cinema owner “wants to let them in and show Jewish films.” This was misleading, the committee believes, noting that only two of the four cinemas that declined to host the festival had cited security reasons and that another cinema had offered space.
