SVT and SR both want full compensation in their consultation responses to the proposal for extra funding to cover increased costs for the terrestrial network.
This is clear from the submissions that the public service companies have sent to the government. Full compensation would mean an additional 383 million kronor for SVT and 82 million kronor for Sveriges Radio.
If the government chooses one of the lower options, it would mean that funds intended for journalism, programming and digital development would instead have to go to the terrestrial network that the state has decided public service should have, SVT reports.
Sveriges Radio adds that the actual cost will only be clear after final negotiations with Teracom.
