Lindsey Vonn broke her leg in Sunday's Olympic downhill race and was taken from the competition by air ambulance.
Aksel Lund Svindal wrote about the accident on Instagram.
"Lindsey. You are incredibly brave. You inspire people who follow your journey, and those of us who work closely with you every day. Yesterday was a tough day in the mountains, for everyone, but especially for you. Yet something happened that I think says it all. 'Say congratulations and good job to Breezy.' Your teammate was in the lead, and that is the message you wanted the team and coaches to remember before you were taken by helicopter to the hospital," he wrote.
