Jesper Svensson's birdie on the 16th hole – a putt from over 13 meters – was impressive.
And the Swede's finish at Le Golf National in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France, was brilliant.
With four straight birdies, he summarized the first day of the European Tour tournament at a total of six strokes under par, and shared the lead with Joe Dean, England, and Dane Thorbjørn Olesen.
"It was great. I had some good putts that rolled in", he says to the organizer's website.
"It was a good start, absolutely."
The 28-year-old Svensson got a flying start with three birdies on the first five holes. The round's only bogey came on the 13th hole – but then the strong finish ensured that he is in shared lead.
