The intended target was a man in his 20s with ties to a criminal network in Farsta, southern Stockholm, who was inside the courthouse.
The teenagers, now 17 and 18 years old, are linked to a criminal network in Växjö. Both are sentenced to closed youth care for preparation for murder and aggravated weapons offenses.
The 17-year-old is sentenced to closed youth care for one year and four months, and the 18-year-old for one year and ten months. For the younger of the two, this means a one-month increase in sentence, and for the older, a two-month increase.
Four men who helped plan the murder with the teenagers, including picking up the younger one from a foster home, have their sentence increased by the Svea Court of Appeal to seven and a half years in prison.
It was the intended target who reacted to the teenagers looking nervous outside the building. A person he was in contact with alerted the police and guards to the teenagers, and when they were searched, the weapon was found.
The court finds that the teenagers were ready to commit a murder and would have completed the plan in the near future. This is a preparation crime that was very close to an attempted murder and even a completed crime, which the Court of Appeal believes should have a greater impact on the length of the sentence.
Corrected: An earlier version contained an incorrect statement about the sentence for the four men.
