The sentence for the four men who assaulted three victims with foreign backgrounds during a single night of partying in Stockholm will be increased, the Svea Court of Appeal announced.

"Like the district court, the Court of Appeal has concluded that these are hate crimes directed against people with a different ethnic background," says Jacob Aspegren, councilor at the Court of Appeal, in a press release.

Similar to the district court verdict, the men, who are all in their 20s and linked to the Nazi Aktivklubb Sverige, are convicted of, among other things, aggravated assault. They are also convicted of another assault committed during the same evening.

"The evidence is sufficient to say that the four also committed that assault together and in concert."

Otherwise, the Court of Appeal confirms the district court's verdict. The sentence is increased to between three years and nine months and four years' imprisonment.
