The Court of Appeal thus confirms the district court's judgment.
On November 17, 2022, the man attacked a 19-year-old woman at a group home in Enköping with a knife; she was the only staff member there at the time. In 2023, the man was sentenced to forensic psychiatric care.
In 2024, the CEO of the care company that ran the residence was charged with work environment crimes for causing the death of another. According to the indictment, the CEO had responsibility for the woman's work environment and was responsible for shortcomings in workplace safety that likely contributed to the outcome.
The Court of Appeal writes that the company has failed in its systematic work environment efforts, but that it has not been proven that there was a causal relationship between this and the murder.
