The risks in the economy are many, according to Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson (M). However, a potential AI bubble is not her biggest concern right now. I am not worried but I am keeping an eye on it, she says.

As valuations of AI-related companies like Nvidia have grown, there has been increasing talk of an AI bubble. This week, there have been reports about how the credit market now sees some uncertainty around the valuation of these companies.

Minister of Finance Elisabeth Svantesson points out the obvious:

It's very difficult to know when it's a bubble or not, you don't know until it bursts. AI is not new but it's growing very quickly and there are risks but I'm not worried, she says, but points out that there may be "a hidden, smaller bubble in it all."

Do you see any parallels to the cyber crash?

"I see both similarities and differences. It's about technology shifts, but AI has been going on for a long time. When it comes to 'it', it happened quite quickly and it was built up very quickly. There's a history of slow growth here," she says.
