Pettersen put her clubs on the shelf after Europe’s victory in the 2019 Solheim Cup. Since then, she has captained the European team in two editions of the prestigious competition.

"I’ve started to enjoy training again. After a while, you start to wonder what it will feel like under competitive pressure. South Korea felt like the right place to find out," Pettersen says, according to NTB.

The comeback could be more than a one-off. Pettersen has long-term plans for the LPGA Tour’s senior tour.

Pettersen won two majors during her career, claimed 15 victories on the LPGA Tour and played in nine Solheim Cups. At her best, she was second in the world rankings.
