A dangerous object was thrown into an apartment in Borås on Thursday.

The object has been taken into custody by the national bomb disposal unit, and the incident is classified as an attempt to cause serious damage to public safety and a serious violation of the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods, police said shortly before 1 p.m. It is not clear what it is, but it is considered sharp.

The alarm about a suspected dangerous object in Hässleholmen in Borås came at 8 a.m. The landlord Victoriahem told Borås Tidning that an object had been thrown into an apartment in the building.

Residents in the area were urged to stay indoors during the operation.

The police removed one person from the scene this morning, according to Borås Tidning, which published a picture showing a person being led to a police car. Johan Håkansson, a press spokesman for the police, told the newspaper that there was no suspect but that one person had been brought in for questioning.
