The alarm was raised at 1:40 p.m. on Wednesday. The object was found in the house's garage by construction workers at the site and an area around the building was cordoned off.
At 5 p.m., the police said the bomb squad had handled the object.
"The National Bomb Disposal Service has been on site and has taken measures regarding the dangerous object so that it is no longer dangerous to handle," the police wrote on their website.
A preliminary investigation into violations of the Flammable and Explosive Goods Act has been initiated.
