The police cordoned off an area between Närlunda and Malmöleden in Helsingborg on Wednesday afternoon after a suspected hazardous object was found on a footpath.
A nearby preschool was evacuated, writes Helsingborgs Dagblad.
We have asked staff and children to stay indoors, says Fredrik Bratt at the police command center to the newspaper.
Residents in nearby buildings were also asked to stay away from balconies and windows. According to HD, it was a passerby who discovered the object and alerted the police at 2:30 pm.
The police bomb experts disarmed the object late in the afternoon, which will be further examined later. The cordons around the discovery site could later be lifted.
