The suspected dangerous object found at an apartment building in Hässleholmen in Borås was not sharp, the police announced.

The National Bomb Disposal Service has been on site. After about 20 minutes of work, they were able to determine that the object is not sharp and there is currently no danger to the public, says Jennifer Last, press spokesperson for the police.

Police were alerted on Friday morning by several residents of the building who called in and stated that they had seen a person leave an object on a staircase down towards a laundry room. A VMA (important public notice) was issued, but was withdrawn at 10:30 a.m.

Two apartment buildings were evacuated in connection with the alarm, but they will now be allowed to return home. The police are not saying what items were found.

"At the moment we are not saying that for various reasons," says Jennifer Last.
