The object was found at around 10 a.m.
A member of the public found a suspicious object that the caller said looked like a hand grenade, said Jennifer Gnudi, press spokesperson for the police.
As of 11:30 a.m., it was still not confirmed what the object was. According to the police, the assessment is that there is no risk of detonation. An area has been cordoned off.
The police initially classified the incident as a serious violation of the Flammable and Explosive Goods Act.
