The police were alerted to the object at around 10 a.m. by a person who thought it looked like a hand grenade.
Police later determined that the object was not dangerous. The incident is still being investigated as an attempted unlawful threat.
"It will be handled by the national bomb disposal unit and technicians," the police write.
