Three individuals previously detained as suspects for exposing a girl in southern Sweden to two serious crimes are released.
Two of the individuals had been detained for crimes against the law prohibiting female genital mutilation. The third was suspected of gross child rape.
Now, prosecutor Pia Björnsson announces that all three have been released.
I revoked one of the detentions yesterday and the remaining two this morning. The reason for this is that I believe it is more likely that no crime has been committed at all, she says.
The suspicions remain formally, however.
We are waiting for some information before I can make such a decision. That's why I say it is more likely that no crime has been committed. But I'm not saying that there is no reason to suspect someone, says Pia Björnsson.
