The doctoral student from China was convicted last month for three rapes in London and seven in China between 2019 and 2024. The assaults were filmed, which has been part of the evidence. He drugged most of the victims and therefore they have little or no memory of the assaults, reports The Guardian.
The police have found 58 films believed to show assaults against women – where most are still not identified.
Since the man was convicted, over 20 women have contacted the police and described the same method for the assaults as he was convicted of.
Several of the new suspected assaults are not on film and increase the police's suspicions that the man attacked over 60 women. The investigators therefore fear that the man may be the worst rapist in British modern history.
