An American man who sent threats to Taylor Swift on social media was arrested in German Gelsenkirchen on Wednesday, ahead of her first concert in the city, reports AP.
The man, suspected of stalking the star, had a ticket to the concert and was arrested at an entrance control to the arena. In a statement, the police say the man was arrested because they could not rule out that he would pose a security risk.
He will not be released until Saturday, after Taylor Swift has made her last performance in the city.
Taylor Swift is currently on her "Eras tour". She will perform in Gelsenkirchen on Thursday and Friday evening, before heading to Hamburg.
