He is not suspected of any crime yet, says prosecutor Sophia Berling.

She does not want to say what injuries the man has. According to the prosecutor, he will probably not be questioned until Sunday at the earliest.

It was on Friday morning that a woman was murdered in Skultuna and another woman was subjected to an attempted murder in Rönnby in Västerås.

The women have, or have had, a relationship with the suspected man. All those involved are in their 40s.

The police assessed the suspect as dangerous and a VMA (important message to the public) was issued in Skultuna. The residents were urged to stay indoors.

The injured woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries and could be questioned on Friday.

She has given an account of what happened, says Sophia Berling.

The police and the prosecutor have a picture of the sequence of events.

The man is also suspected of gross violation of a child's integrity since three children were present at the attempted murder in Rönnby.

They have been close by so they have had an understanding of what has happened, says Sophia Berling.

The distance between Rönnby and Skultuna, where the crimes took place, is around one mile. Both crime scenes are cordoned off for technical investigations.
