The Coast Guard boarded the ship Sea Owl 1 on March 12 after suspecting it was sailing under a false flag in Swedish territorial waters.

The ship has now reflagged from the Comoros to Cameroon, and the Swedish Transport Agency therefore no longer considers it stateless.

"The Swedish Transport Agency has received confirmation from the Cameroonian Maritime Authority that the vessel is now registered there. This means that in our further work, the vessel is now considered to meet the requirements," writes Joakim Milton, ship inspector and sea captain at the Swedish Transport Agency, to TV4 Nyheterna.

Press officer Carolina Häggkvist at the Coast Guard believes the ship will be released in the near future when all administrative work is complete.
