The tanker was boarded by the Coast Guard in early May off Trelleborg. It is suspected of being part of Russia's so-called "shadow fleet" and is on the sanctions lists of the EU, the UK and Ukraine.
The ship's captain, a 35-year-old Chinese national, was arrested shortly after boarding on suspicion of using a false document, a felony. He is also suspected of violating the Maritime Code over lack of seaworthiness.
Now the Swedish Transport Agency has decided that the ship will be banned from use, TV4 reports, and Jin Hui will therefore not be allowed to continue its journey.
