The woman alerted the police at 19 o'clock on Friday evening and said that someone was stalking her in the park.
When we finally found her, she had already been subjected to this suspected crime, says the police's press spokesperson Evelina Olsson.
The police were quickly on the scene in Pildammsparken, which is Malmö's largest at 45 hectares. The woman was then no longer on the phone with the emergency center.
We could not locate her. We did not know where she was, only that it was in the park, says Olsson.
The police classify the incident as gross rape. Parts of the park were cordoned off and a large police operation got underway.
No one has been arrested. The woman is being cared for at the hospital and will be interviewed by the police during the day. The police are also asking any potential witnesses or business owners who had camera surveillance during the night in the area to contact them.
