Rocchi, who is the chief referee for both Serie A and Serie B, is accused, among other things, of choosing Andrea Colombo as the referee for the match between Inter and Bologna in April last year because Colombo was "liked by Inter".
He is also accused of influencing the video assistant referee (VAR) to review a handball incident during a match between Udinese and Parma in March 2025.
Rocchi denies the allegations but has chosen to take a break from his duties. VAR director Andrea Gervasoni is also under investigation for similar allegations.
