We have seized the object and tried to secure tracks as much as possible on site. We do not know exactly when this object was placed there, but if someone has seen something, we are interested, says the police's press spokesperson Patric Fors.
The incident is classified as an attempt at general dangerous destruction and a serious offense against the law on explosive goods is being established.
No person is arrested, says Fors.
The place where the object was found was cordoned off during the Monday morning. Residents in the vicinity were accommodated and a VMA, important message to the public, was sent to people living at affected addresses.
Shortly after 11.00 am, the cordons were lifted and residents could again leave their homes.
The alarm about the suspected dangerous object came from the public at 9 am on Monday morning.
It has been found outdoors in a bush by a staircase, says the police's press spokesperson Leif Fransson.
