The area is cordoned off and residents at addresses in the vicinity have been urged to stay indoors in their properties or keep away from the area.

The object is secured. There are a few things left to do before we can clear the whole thing, says the police's press spokesperson Leif Fransson.

This applies to all addresses between Hyllie Boulevard and Garngatan on one side and Hyllie Boulevard and Bläckgatan on the other side, as well as Lingatan. A VMA, important message to the public, has been sent to those affected by the cordons.

The Emporia shopping center, which is located nearby, is not affected by the stay indoors.

The alarm about the suspected dangerous object came in from the public at 9 am on Monday morning.

It was found outdoors in a bush by a staircase, says Leif Fransson.
