The incident was reported on Wednesday afternoon. The suspect, who is in his 70s, was arrested at the home.
The police do not want to comment on what relationship the woman had with the man.
"That's one of the things we're going to investigate now," police spokesperson Leif Fransson says.
The residence has been cordoned off for a technical examination. Police are also going door to door in the area to obtain more information.
