According to the police, several witnesses reported the incident, which occurred in a parking lot in a residential area in Borås on Monday evening.
"They perceived it as a person being taken from the scene against their will," said investigation leader Emma Jutemar to TV4 Nyheterna, which was the first to report on the incident.
Now Borås Tidning reveals what really happened.
"We have received information that it was some kind of stunt. So it was a prank," duty investigation officer Per-Anders Aronsson told the newspaper.
He said the people who carried out the "kidnapping" contacted the police themselves.
