A suspected dangerous object has been found outside a villa in central Rönninge in Salem municipality south of Stockholm on Tuesday evening.
We received an alarm at 22.01 that something was lying outside a residential building. A private individual had reacted to something happening and gone out and looked, and then found the object, says police spokesperson Daniel Wikdahl.
The area around the object has been cordoned off and residents in the nearest villa to the object have been evacuated.
All houses in the vicinity have been evacuated and the national bomb squad is on site. We are treating the object as live, says Daniel Wikdahl.
A preliminary investigation into attempted public endangerment and violation of the law on flammable and explosive goods has been initiated.
