A VMA (important public notice) has also been issued, asking residents in the area to "stay indoors and away from doors and windows."
The first patrol on site assessed that it could very well be a sharp object. There are quite clear indications of that, says Jens Andersson, press spokesman for the police.
According to information provided to Borås Tidning , it is suspected that two hand grenades were involved.
This is confirmed by the police.
"Yes, on the outside it looks like hand grenades. But we don't know exactly what kind of objects they are, that still has to be clear. We will do a technical examination of the objects, but on the outside it looks like hand grenades," Jens Andersson tells TT.
It was a private individual who raised the alarm just before 7 a.m. The nearest stairwell has been evacuated and the national bomb shelter has been activated.
"We have a good safety distance and within that there is a school. We have been in contact with the principal and they will keep all students indoors until we say otherwise," says Jens Andersson.
