The alarm was raised at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday after a passerby discovered the object on a patch of grass near an apartment building. Police cordoned off the area and urged residents to stay away from windows and balconies.
The national bomb squad was called, and about two hours after the alarm was raised, the danger had passed.
