The object was found in a residential area, after an alarm at 14.30 on Monday. Whether it is sharp or not, the police cannot say.

A search is underway for several perpetrators, among other things with the help of a helicopter.

We have at least managed to arrest two people, but it is possible that someone else has been arrested, says the police's press spokesperson Fredrik Svedemyr at 17 o'clock.

The arrested persons are suspected of attempted public dangerous destruction.

Residents and a preschool in the area are urged to stay indoors. The blockade in the area was expanded after a few hours.

Blockades are a matter of judgment based on the nature of the object. It is the expertise on site that makes that assessment, says Fredrik Svedemyr.

The police's bomb technicians have been called to the scene.
