The police were alerted on Wednesday afternoon about a suspected dangerous object in Valsta in Sigtuna municipality.

Just before 3:30 pm, the police received a call about the suspected object, which was found outdoors.

The object was found relatively close to a preschool, says the police's press spokesperson Nadya Norton.

The national bomb squad was on site and just before 7:00 pm, the object was removed from the location for further investigation.

According to the police, there was no need for evacuation from the preschool, and parents were able to pick up their children as usual.

A preliminary investigation has been initiated for gross violation of the law on flammable and explosive goods.
