First, two empty and parked buses exploded in the city of Bat Yam, near Tel Aviv, followed by a third explosion on another bus at a further parking lot.

No people were on board or near the vehicles, but bomb police found two more bombs that, according to the police, could be disarmed.

The Security Service, Shin Bet, was immediately connected. The explosions were investigated as suspected terrorist acts and several security measures have been taken, including reinforced security at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport and Jerusalem's local train.

Israel's Defense Minister, Israel Katz, has ordered the military to increase its efforts on the occupied West Bank following the explosions. In a statement, he accused "Palestinian terrorists" of the explosions, but no one has taken responsibility for the act and no evidence of who was behind it has been presented.

The three buses were almost completely burned out in the explosions and Israeli bomb experts continued their search for potentially dangerous objects in the area.

"We urge the public to avoid the area and be vigilant for suspected dangerous objects," the police said according to the Jerusalem Post.
