It was on May 9 that a man and a woman in their 70-75 years of age were found dead in their home in Klippan. The two were found by a relative.

The suspect is from a smaller town in northwestern Skåne and was arrested on Friday afternoon, May 16. He was arrested on probable cause suspected of double murder the same day.

Prosecutor Kristin Vernet has previously said that the now detained is believed to be unknown to the victims. He has previously been convicted of a crime, which according to the newspaper was over ten years ago and concerned vandalism.

The police have previously not ruled out more perpetrators but said that there is nothing that points in that direction.

The man has, according to the newspaper, been questioned over the weekend but has not responded to how he stands on the allegations.

A detention hearing will be held in the afternoon.
