The man, who is in his 20s, is suspected of aiding and abetting murder and has been detained since the end of August.
The main suspect in the investigation is detained in absentia for murder, but is still on the run.
In order for us to get to the bottom of this, we need to have the main suspect here, says prosecutor Magnus Pettersson.
He emphasizes that the man who has now been released from detention is still suspected. Moreover, several other individuals have been suspected of involvement in the murder during the autumn, but they are not detained.
It was on July 14 last year that two people were found dead in a burned-out car in an industrial area in Malmö. Shortly afterwards, two Britons were reported missing in Sweden. A month later, the prosecutor stated that it concerned the two Britons.
