It was 11:14 on Saturday when an ambulance was alerted on a prio 3 mission, an alarm of lower priority, in Harmånger in Nordanstig municipality. Almost half an hour later, at 11:40, SOS Alarm was alerted again.

Then, a man in his 25s had assaulted a female ambulance nurse with a sharp object. The woman, who was in her 45s, died from her injuries.

"Comprehensive investigation"

A comprehensive investigation has been initiated, said prosecutor Elin Källberg to TT on Monday morning.

These are ordinary investigative measures, such as examining seized items and hearing people who made observations in connection with the incident and similar.

The man was questioned on Sunday.

I have not received any transcript from it yet, but I have understood that an interrogation took place yesterday.

Admitted violence

The man should have, a few days before Saturday's attack, threatened ambulance staff with a baseball bat – after which he was taken to psychiatry by the police. No one was physically injured in connection with the incident.

Whether any crime is being investigated in connection with that incident is too early to say, Källberg says.

We will have to get back to that, she says.

According to the Prosecution Authority, the man has admitted to using violence against the deceased woman, but his defense lawyer does not want to comment on the matter.

I will not be making any comments at this point, but we will have to wait for the investigation, says the defender Nina Tiberg.
