The man suspected of murdering a woman in Karlskrona had a restraining order and was therefore not allowed to visit or follow the woman, local media reports.

It was around noon on Thursday that police were called to an address in Karlskrona. A woman in her 50s was found badly stabbed outdoors. She was taken to hospital by ambulance, but her life could not be saved.

The contact ban was issued in October this year.

As far as we know, there are no suspected violations of the ban, not until the act, says senior prosecutor Anna Johansson Toresten to BLT .

The man has been taken into custody and will undergo a minor forensic psychiatric examination.
