Suspect in cult-linked cyberattacks found not to have serious mental disorder

The forensic psychiatric report submitted to Umeå District Court on Monday means that he will likely be sentenced to prison if convicted.

The man has been identified as a leader within 764, an extremist and violence-prone network founded by a teenager in the United States in 2021.

The 18-year-old is suspected of, among other things, three attempted murders, incitement to suicide, rape, aggravated exploitation of children for sexual posing, aggravated child pornography and aggravated animal cruelty. According to the indictment, all the crimes were committed online between 2023 and 2025, and the victims are in several countries.
