A man suspected of murder and attempted murder in Gothenburg in 2012 has been extradited to Sweden, the Swedish Prosecution Authority announced.

The man, who had been detained in absentia since March this year, was arrested abroad in October - 13 years after the suspected crimes took place.

He is now being held in custody on charges of murder and attempted murder. The detention hearing will be held at Gothenburg District Court on Wednesday morning.

According to Aftonbladet, the man was arrested in Vienna and has links to criminal gangs.

The murder took place in September 2012, when a 26-year-old man was shot dead at a tram stop in Västra Frölunda.
