The suspect, who is in his 40s, has been on the run since the murder, but has now been arrested in Cape Verde where he will also stand trial.
He is suspected, among other things, of being an accessory to the murder of a man in his 30s, who was shot dead in Gamlestaden in May 2020. He is also suspected of a particularly serious drug offense in a case involving a shipment of 240 kilograms of amphetamine.
"This is another example of the perseverance needed in the police's complex criminal investigations of serious crimes in the network environment," says Gunilla Lindqvist, who is acting head of the investigation unit in Police Region West, in a press release.
