Elon Musk's new giant compensation received less support from shareholders than his last compensation plan, reports American CNBC.

When Tesla owner Elon Musk's compensation was voted on by the company's shareholders last week, the company reported that 75 percent of shareholders voted in favor of the nearly 9,000 billion kronor compensation plan.

However, if shareholders who sit on the company's board or hold executive roles in Tesla are not included, the support was lower. According to CNBC , which cites an analysis by investment firm Columbia Threadneedle, support among investors was 66.9 percent.

The support is therefore lower than the previous compensation plan.

Musk's compensation will be paid in Tesla shares. The bonus is set up in a tiered model and will - if he meets all conditions over the next decade - increase his ownership in the company from 13 to 25 percent. According to Tesla, Elon Musk has not received a regular salary from the company since 2019.

The last time a compensation plan for Musk was developed was in 2018, but that plan had to be voted through again last year after a judge in the state of Delaware, where Tesla was headquartered until 2021, ruled that the company had not sufficiently demonstrated that the compensation was fair.
