First came the decline when her contact with the now-deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was discovered.
Now the pendulum has swung: Almost half of Norwegians, 47 percent, think that Mette-Marit is suitable for the role of Queen of Norway, according to a recent survey commissioned by Aftenposten.
The survey was conducted in the days after King Harald's funeral last week.
In the most recent similar survey, conducted in February, only one in five Norwegians believed that Mette-Marit was suitable for the role of queen.
