Rick Davies, singer in the British rock band Supertramp, is dead, reports Variety. Davies died after a longer period of illness and became 81 years old.
Davies founded together with Roger Hodgson the band Supertramp in the 1970s and wrote some of the band's biggest hits like “Goodbye Stranger” and “Bloody Well Right”.
In 1983, however, Hodgson quit the group after disagreements between the two and Rick Davies decided to continue the band. He performed as recently as a few years ago, then under the name ”Ricky and the Rockets".
