Landskrona was almost forced to win today's home game against Brage in order not to fall behind in the battle for the two direct spots to the top league or lose ground in the hunt for a qualifying spot.
Bois did the job at home – winning 3–0 against Brage – despite a tough setback just after half an hour of play.
Then Amr Kaddoura's left knee gave out and the goalkeeper was forced to leave the field. A goalkeeper substitution so early in the game is something no team wants to do – and especially not when the reserve goalkeeper makes his season debut when the most is at stake.
Now Svante Hildeman, who replaced Kaddoura, performed excellently in his first Superettan game since last autumn.
This is what you wait for. It's about being ready when you get the chance, says Hildeman to Max.
Vincent Sundberg and Edi Sylisufaj ensured that Landskrona had 2–0 at halftime. After the break, Jesper Strid increased the score to 3–0.
Helsingborg simultaneously lost 2–0 to 2–2 away against Sandviken and fell back to a qualifying spot, six points behind leading Degerfors.
Landskrona is the new second place, with five points up to Degerfors.
Degerfors will definitely secure promotion to the Allsvenskan with a win away against Varberg on Sunday. Fourth-placed Öster will pass both Landskrona and Helsingborg if they get three points away against Örebro SK.
When all top teams have played, two rounds remain.
