The Norwegian Mathias Holbæk won three gold medals at the U23 World Championship in Italian Schilpario, but the aftermath was about his celebration at the finish line in the 20-kilometer mass start.

The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (Fis) believes that the winning gesture was "sexual", he tells local Norwegian media.

Fis was not pleased that it was live on TV. They meant that it was an unsportsmanlike celebration when 20,000 were watching. That it ended with a fine is a bit crazy, he says according to the news agency NTB.

He says that he did not have any ulterior motive with the gesture, more than the 21-year-old wanted to create a "signature gesture" for future victories.

Everyone thought it was a fun celebration except Fis. It was a special feeling to be summoned to representatives of Fis. They did not see the humor in it, one can say, says Holbæk.
