"It's incredibly impressive what they're doing, my teammates, especially Frida. I'm happy for them," Sundling says after finishing eleventh in her Olympic debut.
She had been, for many, the pre-race favorite and led strongly at the start.
But then it happened too fast.
"It was like the handbrake started to wear off on the last lap in the classic section, on that long hill. Then you just had to listen to your body and not your head," Sundling says afterward.
"I'm a little disappointed, of course, but when you couldn't have done anything differently, you just have to accept it. Reality caught up with me," she says.
She doesn't feel any anxiety about the rest of the Olympics, and she has no plans to stop when things get tough.
"It would have been a bit heavy, I think."
