Toronto had only a little over an eight percent chance of winning the lottery for this summer's NHL draft, in which teams that missed the playoffs were drawn.

I usually never get lucky in lotteries, so this was very nice, Sundin said, according to Aftonbladet, on the television broadcast where he represented Toronto.

Sundin was introduced recently as a senior adviser to new general manager John Chayka.

Toronto is expected to select Canadian forward Gavin McKenna, who is ranked number one in the draft.

Swedish giant prospect Ivar Stenberg, now with Tre Kronor ahead of the World Cup, could end up in San Jose, which will pick second.

Vancouver picks third in the draft, Chicago fourth and the New York Rangers fifth.
