This year will also be a music summer. Ullevi was without concerts throughout last year, but in 2025, the arena will be visited by both AC/DC, Darin, and Gothenburg hero Håkan Hellström. The West Coast festival Way Out West returns with headliners like Charli "Brat" XCX, Iggy Pop, and Queens of the Stone Age. The latter will get a new opportunity to meet a Swedish audience after their cancelled performances in 2024.

Debated rapper

Swedish rapper Yasin makes his first live performances in nine years during Brännbollsyran in Umeå, Alive festival in Borlänge, and Trädgården festival in Kristianstad. Yasin has previously been sentenced to prison for preparation for human trafficking and for serious weapons offenses. His performances are long-awaited by fans, but they have also led to debate and withdrawn municipal festival grants.

Other major Swedish acts that give summer concerts are, among others, Roxette, Ant Wan, Lars Winnerbäck, and Veronica Maggio.

Nostalgia fest

Metal festival Sweden Rock follows its successful recipe with bands like Scorpions and Sex Pistols. The festival has also invited two of the biggest acts from the nu-metal heyday: Slipknot and Korn.

According to a similar nostalgic model, Stockholm Fields invites a collection of skatepunk bands like Green Day and Millencolin to Gärdet in the capital in June. The same month, the Stockholm festival Rosendal Garden Party returns, attracting acts like Kraftwerk, Chaka Khan, and Sean Paul.

More world artists entertain Sweden during the summer months, including disco queen Kylie Minogue, who makes her only Scandinavian performance at Avicii arena in June.

Towards the end of the summer, one of the world's biggest hip-hop stars also lands: American rapper Kendrick Lamar, who performs at 3 arena with backing from r'n'b singer SZA.
