Sum 41 were to tour Australia between December 4 and 12, but Deryck Whibley has contracted pneumonia, writes Billboard.
The performances were part of the Canadian band's farewell tour, which will conclude with a concert in Toronto on January 30. The very last performance is intended to be at the Canadian equivalent of the Grammis, the Juno Awards, on March 30.
Sum 41 was formed in 1996 and had several hit songs in the early 2000s, including "Fat lip" and "In too deep". Since then, the pop-punkers from Ontario have led a more anonymous existence, but have steadily continued touring.
The album "Heaven and hell", which was released in March, will be the group's last.
