Eleven people have been killed in Sudan since a gold mine partially collapsed, the state-owned company that operates the mine reports.
Seven other miners are said to have been injured, but have been taken to hospital, according to the company. The mine, which is located in the province of Nahr an-Nil, collapsed over the weekend.
A lot of gold is mined in Sudan, but due to the lack of safety standards in the war-torn country, accidents are not entirely uncommon.
